The 60-second version

What happened here, if you only have a minute

The problem: Purview DSPM aggregates signals from multiple data-security solutions. DLP, DLM, Insider Risk Management and more. Into one centralised admin view. But every solution had its own reporting needs, formats, and audiences. Admins got volume without coherence: lots of dashboards, no shared way to see, understand, and act.

My role: product designer, working with one other designer, exploring how reporting could become personalised, customisable, and reusable across teams.

Decision 01

Structure every report around three layers. Visibility (what's happening), comprehension (what it means), actionability (what to do next).

Decision 02

Personalised and customisable by role. The report a CISO scans weekly is composed differently from what a DLP admin works daily.

Decision 03

Build a reusable component system, so solution teams compose reports from shared parts instead of rebuilding reporting from scratch.

Outcome: a reusable reporting pattern. With its component library. Adopted by different solution teams across Purview. The full deck is below.
